Small Grants – Efficiency Scheme: Key Features
Grant Amounts: Farmers in Wales may be eligible for financial support ranging from £1,000 to £15,000, covering up to 40% of approved capital investment costs (excluding VAT).
Eligibility Criteria: To apply, farmers must be registered with the Welsh Government and hold a Customer Reference Number (CRN). Eligible applicants must be primary agricultural producers with at least 3 hectares of registered farmland in Wales or demonstrate a minimum of 550 standard labour hours.
Eligible Investments :The scheme supports the purchase of equipment and infrastructure designed to enhance farm efficiency.
Application Window: The current funding round runs from 3 March 2025 to 11 April 2025, with an allocated budget of £5 million.
How to Apply: Applications must be submitted via the Rural Payments Wales (RPW) Online platform. Farmers select the relevant capital items, and the system calculates eligibility scores based on predefined criteria.
This initiative forms part of the Welsh Government’s broader commitment to promoting sustainable and efficient farming practices through targeted financial support.
